Checking in from North Carolina here. I used to love model railroading when I was a kid (a looong time ago
\) and have recently been bitten by the bug for whatever reason. I picked up a bunch of HO crap via Craigslist to scratch the itch while I plan for bigger and better things. Well OK, it's not all crap, but some of it isn't much above! Still, with a little work from a Bright Boy I have a working loop with a few engines and some rolling stock in reasonable shape. The hidden gem of the purchase is an Athearn Chessie SD40-2 in really nice shape - which is appropriate since I had a Chessie engineer's hat when I was a kid
I've had lots of fun modeling, so next step is to continue with that (and venture into the world of scratchbuilt styrene) while I plan for a future layout. Definitely a lot of inspiration to be had here - cheers!
