O.K. This might seem like an "easy" question :obut I am in the process of *trying* to mount some RIX Switch Machines on their Under-the-Layout mounting brackets as I have a very shallow draft layout that has to fold flat against a wall so I can have access to my bedroom closet. What should be a rather straightforward process is anything but: The holes that *should* allow one to mount the switch machine to the bracket don't do so  and the holes needed to mount the Switch Machine + Bracket to the underside of the layout are too small for the screws supplied. Has anyone had these problems and how did you fix it?!?

BTW before someone suggests it, I did consider Tortoise Switch Machines but the draft is so shallow (< 3 inches ) that RIX became the second best option I had, and YES it will fit if I can figure out how to mount the $%$!!!! thing . Indeed any tips you might have for aligning the thing as well as mounting the thing would be greatly appreciated. RIX did not do a very good job in regards to their explanation and the instructions were almost unreadable.

Thank you in advance.

If you are not fully committed to the Rix machines, there is another solution that works well in tight spaces: servos such as those used in R/C airplanes. They required no more than 1 inch of under-table clearance, so they will fit in places that are too tight for a Rix or a Tortoise.

One vendor of complete control systems for servos is Tam Valley Depot. Excellent products!
