I was looking at an engine on ebay and it is missing the handrails. Where would I find some nice replacement handrail sets at. Also any other replacements that I may want, I looked at athearns site and all the offer is metal rails and I dont have the patients for them. I would rather just deal with plastic ones.

Ken, what kind of engine exactly? Some Athearn engines don't have plastic handrails available. Anyone who can handle a big rig can surely handle bending a little brass wire. :)

Its a SD 40T-2 but I tryed the brass ones and they didnt fit the engine they came with. one was too long and to make them fit I had to heat up the stantions so they would go into the holes designed for them. I really dont have the patients to work with them. I Also prefer the plastic ones due to there looks over the metal ones anyway

Drill out the stanchion holes... I prefer Smokey Valley handrails, in most cases, if its a newer SD40T-2, Horizon or Athearn might carry the spare parts.

I just wonder if the 40-2 rails would work?? HUMM or maby an SD50 they are about the same length. Hard to say well maby just order a few and see if they do work.

SD50 will be a closer fit then an SD40-2. The T's were longer to accomidate the radiator.
