Hi all I have 2 GP7 Dummies (I think they are MTH) that are about 20 years old. I want to repaint them and change out the plastic wheels that are in the Truck with metal. I think they are 48" wheels but I cannot find any online. They d not have axle extending beyond the wheel. They fit into the truck frame which is clipped into the truck.
Any ideas?
Prototype GP7's had 40" wheels. NorthWest Short Line probably has what you need. If they are Athearn locomotives, they used non-prototype 42" wheels on their models. You didn't mention scale, but I'm not too sure that MTH made an HO GP7. Someone else might know for sure.

Yes HO Thought it says MTH but it's scratched. So42" thanks
If it is an Athearn dummy (which I would almost assume it is), you can easily replace the plastic wheels with the metal ones that come on the powered versions. You can buy the sets from Athearn which include the wheels / plastic center gear and square bronze bushings. They are literally a drop in installation in the dummy truck frames .... and a lot cheaper than NWSL.
