Hello all. I have a MRL SD45-2 from Genesis, and I noticed (when I got it) that the rotary beacon has a seperate light, but the geniuses in China wired it with the headlights. Clerly I am going to have to pick all the wires apart and try to figure out which is which, but oh well. I was going to use a NCE D13SRJ decoder and solder the leads of the rotary beacon lamp to the F1 and BLU "holes" on the light board. Does anybody know if I will need a resistor for this, or if it will even work? Also if you have a better decoder choice, let me know. Thanks!
The Genesis, and all newer Athearn micro bulbs are 1.5v, so yes, unless the decoder has a 1.5v light output, it will have to be resistored (I just made up a word).
