Stumbled onto this little critter, which appears to be made from NS 8808.
Tried doing an internet search for more info but came up short.
I'm thinking the Broake & Howe RR needs one like it.

The cab from NS Dash9 #8808 lives on as part of a custom-built battery-powered unit at the Wabtec/GE plant in Erie, PA. Look carefully and you'll notice wheels that are used to adjust coupler height to switch export units as well as US units. www.AltoonaWorks.info
The way I see it, that’s the easiest way. Center the cab on the truck. Put a generator off one of the axles along with solar panels for climate control. Air lines for horn. Take up less space than a conventional caboose. I’m sure the conductors would like it as they don’t have to ride exposed anymore.
