From this to that? NS 8808?

Stumbled onto this little critter, which appears to be made from NS 8808.
Tried doing an internet search for more info but came up short.
I'm thinking the Broake & Howe RR needs one like it.

Very similar to the tp56 design critters actually. Probably where the idea came from

Looks like they chopped the frame. Spun it 180 on the truck. Chopped the nose and body. Plated the gap. Added the adjusters. And called it a thing

I thought they added a caboose walkway, step and brake wheel.

The way I see it, that’s the easiest way. Center the cab on the truck. Put a generator off one of the axles along with solar panels for climate control. Air lines for horn. Take up less space than a conventional caboose. I’m sure the conductors would like it as they don’t have to ride exposed anymore.
