BNSF owns the old Frisco line into Birmingham. These pics were taken in West Jefferson county near the Miller Steam Plant. It's Powder River coal. Interestingly, the steam plant is located at the site of the old Palos coal mine. The L&N's Cane Creek Branch went under the Frisco main just outside the plant and, while it served the plant for several years, was originally built to reach the area mines.
