Hmm... Looks like it needs brakes, the wheels need recontoured, one of the traction motors trips the ground relay, and it's throwing oil.
Other than that, it seems to be a Santa Fe rebuilt GP7 with not a ton of rust.
 
Yes, ex-ATSF, GP7. I spent many hours on it switching cars in the Norfolk yard, always wondered where it went to.
 


I think what gets me the most, is the fact that that loco is seventy freakin years old. This whole growing old thing is way overrated.
 
Rumor has it that a cabin neighbor down our road laid track for a wooden caboose. The day the caboose was being unload a fellow stops in his car and asked the guy "How much do you want for your caboose?" The owner reply without thinking a number twice of what he paid and the guy accepted and the caboose was reloaded onto the flat bed and delivered to its new owner!
