I bought some N scale code 80 flex track to fool around with, never had any expierence with it, so a couple of questions. First, as you bend the track one rail lengthens on one end and shortens on the other end, so when you get the track where you want it, you cut both ends so the rails are the same on both sides, but when you cut the rail and break away the tie so that the rail joiner fits correctly there is a different gap between the rails in this spot when another piece of track is joined. Is this correct? Thanks.

Yes. Keep the ties and fill in the gaps after you get the track ready to secure. Also, if you are laying more than one piece of track, it doesn't hurt to join them before you bend them into place to make the transition smooth.

Thanks for the tips. Off to the hobby shop tomorrow for more track, then figure out some radiuses.
