I have been having trouble running my locomotive after the consisting. so I thought of making video and sharing what i learn. this is my limited information so correct me if you know better ways to do it.
Did you try manually setting CV 19 to zero first? A factory reset seems like killing flies with a hammer

Lots of times factory guys will tell you to do the factory reset, because it's a universal solution, just like IT guys will tell you to reboot your computer first.
Rebooting a computer will clear out some of the memory cache which sometimes is helpful to running a program. Not always a useless thing to do.

To go further with the computer analogy, resetting the decoder to get it out of consist would be like reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling the OS to get the system volume to default level.
