I got a new digital camera for Christmas from my wife and have been doing a bit of experimenting with it:
With my old camera (a fuji finepix 4.1 mp) I would have to backlight every picture with my large desk lamp. These were taken with the macro setting with no flash of backlighting.
The new Camera is a Fujifilm S1800 12.2mp. What a difference between the two!
Congrats on the new Camera. That's a really nice camera you got.
For MRR photos, low light indoor photos are hard to take. Great depth of field.
Did you try using the manual settings?
Try using Aperture Priority and use a tripod, to get the best depth of field.
Glen, Nice gift and nice pictures. I've got a Fuji S1500 myself 10.0 mp I'm happy with it but an older Fuji I had seemed to be better when just used as a point and click. Go figure.
I've just started playing with it but it's already light years ahead of the old one. The fact you can read the engine numbers in the number boards is a vast improvement!
I will probably be keeping the old one around as a backup at least for now.
Be sure to check out my website for some tips and hints on model railroad photography, its in my signature.
Thanks Bob, I definetly will.
