Athearn Genesis SD70ACE in dc mode

HI people at the moment i have a bachmann sd38-2 which i run on my layout. I have not gone dcc yet and will only do that next year.

I want to buy the Athearn Genesis SD70ACE dcc/sound but what functions will work when run on dc track? The reason why i want to buy this loco is that my layout is halfway complete and i have spare cash to buy a loco. I was thinking of buying an model which have dcc and sound factory installed. This is an expensive loco so i wont buy another one anytime soon.

Please let me know if anybody is running Athearn Genesis SD70ACE in dc mode only.

In Dc mode you will only hear the engine sound when running and engine start up. You will not be able to use the horn, bell, or brake sounds. You will not be able to change the CV values. But it should run OK until you get a DCC system.
