Any suggestions about matching the yellow used in the Erie black and yellow livery?

A lot of older photos and some current models seem to show a a paler shade of yellow (for example my Proto 2000 FA2) that isn't quite prototypical. My Athearn Erie PA1 definitely has a more "orangey" shade of yellow. This "orangey" yellow is much closer to the herald on the front of the restored Erie Green E8 that was at the Spencer meet recently.

The real kicker for me (I'm not that much of a stickler for which yellow it is) is that I want to use the Microscale HO #87-360 decal set for the nose heralds, and these decals definitely look more orange. I want a close match between the paint and the decals since they are supposed to be identical. The newly restored E8 nose art is very close to these decals, so I am thinking they are an accurate color.

I bought some Badger Model Flex Erie-Lackawanna Yellow 16-52 because the E-L yellow is ALSO quite orange in its original, unfaded form.

When my decals arrive, I will do a color matching test.

I just wondered if any other Erie modelers had suggestions.
