I'm searching for photo or drawing of modern-era electric lock switch configuration for use on CTC controlled siding. There is an instruction drawing included in the Details West package showing how to arrange the parts (switch stand, junction box, actuator, telephone, etc) but I'm not sure this arrangement with the telephone is still in use today. Moreover, the long 15' extra ties needed for the actuator and switch box installation are difficult to install in small spaces. I would also like to know if these switch system can be installed at the entrance of CTC controlled yards or if they are only used on sidings. Thanks

Actually there is no telephone there but the switch that lets you unlock the electric lock. This setup is used for most Manually controlled switches in signal territory and for a modern switch machine they have a box you open up to put the switch in manual control so the dispatcher doesn't have to keep throwing the switch if you have a lot of moves to make.

Here is a picture of a setup similar to the DW set and you can just see the box for the switch in the left side after the switch stand and is used to this day.

Interesting picture ! I assume the switch actuator is still connected to CTC in manual mode so the dispatcher always know the points position ?
