Canada Post shipping services now available directly from eBay Canada
and PayPal websites
Canadian eBay users can now create, purchase and print Canada Post
shipping labels directly from their computer

Ottawa - Canada Post today announced the launch of a new online
shipping solution on eBay Canada, giving Canadian eBay and PayPal
members access to Canada Post shipping services directly from eBay
(www.ebay.ca) and PayPal (www.paypal.com) websites. Now, Canadian
users listing items on eBay.ca or eBay.com can create, purchase and
print Canada Post shipping labels with postage right from their
computer, making shipping easier, faster and more efficient. There
are no fees to use the online platform and the cost of postage can be
paid conveniently through a PayPal account. Postage-paid packages can
then be mailed at any post office or street letterbox.

Customers who use the online shipping solution receive savings of up
to eight per cent on domestic rates and of up to nine per cent on US
and international rates (excluding US and International Small Packet
services). The new online shipping solution also automatically
generates the required basic customs forms as part of the label
printing process. Once the label is printed, both the buyer and
seller can track the delivery status of the package (with traceable
shipping services) online from www.ebay.ca (in My eBay) or a PayPal
account.

"This online shipping solution clearly demonstrates Canada Post's
commitment to better serve all its customers," says John Swettenham,
general manager, Marketing - Parcels Division, at Canada Post. "It
makes shipping more convenient than ever for the eBay community.
Canada Post is very excited about this new partnership with eBay – it
highlights our role of trusted third party in online transactions,
uniting Canadian eBay sellers with their buyers in Canada and around
the world."

"We've heard from our community of eBay users that economical, fast
and reliable shipping services are essential in continuing to
maximize their profitability on eBay," says Elmer Sotto, head of
marketplace development, eBay Canada. "This new online shipping tool
not only provides savings on the cost of shipping but also the
ability to manage online sales and shipping needs easily and
conveniently from one place."
Pitney Bowes Inc. is the technology provider of the new online
shipping application on eBay Canada. In 2004, Pitney Bowes introduced
the world's first completely browser-based Internet postage
application in a partnership with eBay in the United States. Designed
to deliver maximum customer convenience and postal revenue security,
this technology represents Pitney Bowes' growing portfolio of
innovative solutions for audiences including consumers and small
businesses.
