I don't think so. The only GP40 high nose I've seen is the GP40X that Athearn did last year. I don't think I've seen a picture of a GP40-2 high nose either in NS or N&W paint.
I'd get a standard Athearn GP40-2 shell and add a high nose to it.
Ive been looking for one of these too. Ive been hoping Atlas would announce one sometime, but that hasnt happened. If you look around, you can find the athearn GP-40X in HN NS.
Nope, no HH GP-40's although you can get HH SD-40's. I think the Cannon #1101 high hood kit would be accurate and reasonably easy to graft on a standard GP-40-2.
This is one of the easier kit-bashes.
Take 1 Atlas GP40 add the Cannon & Co. High-Nose kit #1101. And after a little cutting and splicing you have a NS HH GP40.
Atlas did make a GP40 High Hood in Undec, Guilford, TAG, Southern, NS, and Norfolk Western so you might be able to find one out there. No GP40-2 High Hood has been made yet but I am sure that will change.
awesome. ive been trying to model some guilford trains in different paint schemes and this will probably be my next project after i finish my SD39 MEC- 693........
