I am about to give up on model railroading, can't get any atlas engines to run right on dcc. Anyway I have two N scale kato engines, sd80, and a sd70mac, and both are given me touble. I use the zephyr system. I installed a few drop in decoders that work fine. both are reading the decoder and with give me control of the lights, but will not run. both engines run in dc, and both run fine when i put the old board back in. they both appear to have good contact. Any suggestions?
 
Don't give up on model railroading because of the dcc problems, I didn't, just changed to dc for now to get something running while doing the scenery work. I also have a digitrax zephyr and had problems, it is in mothballs now, and maybe later will try another brand of dcc. So enjoy the other aspects of model railroading while working out the problems with your dcc.
