I have the MRC Prodigy Express system for my layout and am contemplating getting a loco with a Digitrax decoder installed.

Will that work?

Digitrax, and most any brand of decoders, are designed to work with any NMRA-compliant DCC system, so you should be good to go. One thing MRC does NOT work with, however, is JMRI software (DecoderPro etc.)

Yes, that is the purpose of having the DCC standard. Different vendors decoders will work with other vendors systems.

That is a downside. MRC has or had their own computer interface, which was OK, when I used it. otherwise, no problem programing Digitrax decoders.
