I have a 30" deep X 120" wide space available as a leg of my layout. I want to use the area as a diesel servicing facility. The entrance to the area will be a single track coming in on the back, right-hand corner. I have the Walthers diesel house and fueling facility built and just waiting to go in. I have no real idea how to lay out the track plan for prototypical operations. I'd like to have a few tracks to park engines on, so any switchbacks would need to handle an FP7A-F3B permanently coupled pair (~15"). Anyone have a trackplan drawing for something like this/any help developing one?

That is a great sized area to build a shop in!
Try googling diesel shop or some such phrase and you should find some good ideas.
Otherwise keeping the trackwork simple and functional is the key here.
I think I have the same shop, is this it? (sorry, not the best pics but all i have right now)
I recomend the walthers street track inserts for rails in concrete.

John Armstrong's Trackplanning for Realistic Operation has several different plans for realistic engine facilities, or various sizes.
