Did some rail fanning this weekend with the girlfriend at CSX's (formerly Conrail) Dewitt yard East of Syracuse. Got a bunch of good pictures and hope to get more in the following weeks. I even got to see a MOW train setting down ties for future maintenance with an CAT excavator on some specialized orange gondolas but I had forgotten my camera at the Hotel. Let me know what you think of the pictures, I don't think they are too bad for a point and shoot digital camera.

Does anyone offer these rail box cars in HO scale? They seem to be quite popular in the North East

There were a string of empty coal hoppers sitting near the road so I got some pictures, I like the csx owned D&RG hopper, it would be a neat car to feature, any idea on the make/model? Some questionable graffiti on the conrail car:rolleyes:

A good look at the west end of the yard. It's a pretty big yard but so far the Intermodual part looks like it is in accessible for picture taking :(
