Can you put a DCC Sound Decoder into any DCC ready locomotive or does it have to have some special provision for the DCC sound decoder vs. a standard DCC decoder without sound? The reason I ask is I have several older HO Bachman Spectrum DCC ready locos and want to add DCC and Sound to them. I want to know if it is an option or would I be better off selling them and getting ones with built in DCC with sound.
Thanks in advance for any info provided.
Paco
Hi Paco -
There is nothing special about your locos with respect to sound decoders, except that you may have a challenge in finding a suitable location for the speaker. Sometimes, modification of the frame is necessary to allow a speaker to be fitted. It depends on the loco.

Thanks for the info. I figured as much but wasn't sure.
