HO all the way!
I have several Spectrum dash 8's and I would like to make one or 2 into a B unit and I am wondering if you guys know of anyone that produces a kit to convert it? How bout a SD40-2 kit to convert that also?

Rail power products used to make conversion kits, they've been bought by Athearn. Try ebay or google.
I made up a few years back with spare parts from other locos, a little more work but rewarding all the same.
 
I've never heard or seen a Dash-8 B unit, so that might be a scratchbuild. But, since there are SD40-2 B units out there, there might be a kit floating around. I've not see one, though. Most folks scratchbuild.
