I just finished an accurail boxcar kit. The couplers that came with it were in three pieces, two main pieces and the 'hose'. I have an IHC engine with kadee couplers and two Walthers trainline hoppers with what I assume are kadee couplers. The engine and hoppers couple fine but the accurail boxcar only couples to the other intermittantly and not very well. My question is:

What kind of couplers come with accurail cars?
Are these couplers supposed to be compatible with kadee's?
If they are what might have I done wrong assembling them? It doesnt' seem like I did anything wrong but something isn't working.

They are couplers made by Accurail that are supposed to compatible with any HO knuckle coupler, including Kadee's. As you have seen, they are basically junk. Toss them and get some Kadee #5's or #58's on the boxcar and you'll be fine.

+1. And when you start buying Altas cars and locomotives, either Trainman or Masterline, they use Accurails couplers too, and thus, you'll want to replace them with Kadee's.
