Anybody have any leads or ideas to what i can use to make a control panel out of. I have looked all over the internet and all the boxs i have found are of a small size. I did find some sloped boxs but they were small allso. Im thinking i should need 20 inches in width and 10 inches in lenght with about 3 inches in height. I would prefer one that is sloped, but ill take what i can get. I made one for the train yard out of some sheet metal, but the one for the large table is too much to bend my hand i think.

G0 to a Scrap recycling center & find you a pc. of aluminum about 1/4 in. thick. You can cut that to whatever size you want w/a Sabersaw w/a bymetal blade in it. Then just cut some shelf boards to whatever size you need & screww it to the table w/shelf brackets.
Most toggle switchs will fit on a 1/4" or thinner pc. of metal. You could even use a pc. of 1/8th" aluminum.

Plexiglass is available in several thicknesses at most hardware stores, i.e. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, etc. It's easier to work than aluminum, probably cheaper. You can paint it after drilling for turnout control buttons. I had one on the previous D&J Railroad and painted it on the back side so the front was shiney.
