Other than Dullcoat, what other products would you use to seal a freshly weathered boxcar?
What about a wood structure?
Clear Krylon or Krystal Klear have worked for me in the past, but haven't tried them on all plastics to insure compatibility.
I have been using a water-based matt varnish for some wood structures, but it feels "sticky' for up to a week after I brush it on. The bottle is a couple years old.... does this stuff get "too old"?
I would Stick with the Dullcote on plastic that is what it's for. The other stuff tend to make a "milkyway" look !
It's possible that what you have is old, Mikey, but I'd give the Krylon Matte Finish Clear in rattle cans a try. They are cheap (like $4 a can at "Wallyworld) and have worked just fine for me on plastic, wood, and metal.
Thanks for the replies.
I'll save the matt medium for water on the layout and try the Krylon for plastic and wood structures.
