Trying to find pictures & info on the Central Jersey F3s in the green with yellow stripe paint scheme. What year did that color scheme begin? I know they were delivered in the tangerine & blue scheme. Any help would be appreciated. Jerry
Her's a clue, at least. This is a picture of a blue and yellow A unit and solid green B unit in 1953:
The CNJ went through a few years with the F's being painted a solid green with no stripes. The stripes seem to have been added to all CNJ units from about 1957 onward.
- Is this the scheme you are looking for?
Jim.. Thanks for the picture. I do have that one & the A unit is in the original paint of blue & tangerine, which quickly faded to almost yellow. The next scheme was the green / yellow stripes, stripes were dropped in an economy move. Interesting that there is a phase missing in the photo. I guess there is no specific year that the schemes changed. Thanks again.
Ryan, thanks, just what I was looking for, needed to seewhere the added hand grabs were as they were originally shipped almost bare. Jerry
