The scheme first came out in 1960. The SD-40's, all have been retired or rebuilt and they were in the zebra scheme during the mid 90's. So, someone who knows more about CN will have to tell you when it went from the wet noodle to the zebra stripe scheme. The first SD-40's were produced in 1966 so it had to be after that date but before the changeover to the zebra stripe
