Circuit Breaker

After my faux pa with my buck, I was wondering if adding a circuit breaker might be a good idea, (not only for my health but also my wallet)

I'm thinking 12v, 3/5amp would be suitable, similar to that below, but being pretty ignorant about most thing's electrical, thought I'd ask more knowledgeable members.

A circuit breaker probably wouldn't help with reverse polarity on electronic devices. The device would probably be destroyed long before a circuit breaker or fuse would trip. If it was an overload condition, then it would work. In your case, a circuit breaker would have probably tripped, but it wouldn't have saved the converter.

What about a fuse in the line?
