Nice car, love the deck details!
These cars were indeed for over demensional loads, but not heavy, that calls for more axles.
If you have a small computer fan kicking around paint it oxide primer or GE green and strap her down, makes a great o/d load!

That's a cool idea.

I was thinking of a ocean liner's propeller. I'm wondering where I could get one. Perhaps from a hobby shop that sells model ship building supplies.

The car does have nice details fro a generic car. And I love the ACI plates; they are made out of brass and tough as nails. I like durable details.

Well little flat car, I think your center looks great. You shouldn't get depressed about it at all. Love your center!

;)

Looks like a good car, zoegraf. Definitely stick to the theme of your layout. It doesn't necessarily have to be a 'heavy' load. Maybe an oversized sign for a local business?

Totally depressed...

It's not appropriate for my 1950's layout, but will work for my 1974 collection for a layout in the near future.

Now I just have to find a depressed flat car for my 50's layout.

Like the idea of the oversized sign. Perhaps an IRVING OIL sign.

A propeller would make a great load!
I always thought an O scale dragline bucket or something would also make a great oversize load.
I don't have this car anymore but this was another unfinished project of mine:

This is the 4 truck version but I can't imagine it needed to be. There are more posts and ideas in the
