Good Day,
I am new here and I hope that this thread I have started falls within the scope of this forum. And I might add that I really do not like to "self promote" myself, but I did want to share this with the model train community.
My name is Gary and I have developed a way to make carrier free (no clear edge) water slide decals. While I am not an actual train hobbiest, I am a scale model airplane builder. I use to own a company called getstencils.com where I custom made stencils and dry transfers for R/C model aircraft. I sold that company last fall and have a no compete clause that keeps me from making graphics for model airplanes.
However, I have been working on a method to create carrier free water slide decals for many years, I have finally been sucessful. While I am still working on the stand alone lettering method, I have the process to make "solid" image carrier free water slide decal complete.
At the present time, I do not have the facilities to start mass production, nor do I really want to. My intention is to license the technology if there is a market for it.
Here is a YouTube link showing me applying the carrier free decals.

Thank You Very Much!
Gary

I would contact Rail Graphics and see if they are interested in talking to you. They are one of the larger custom decal makers in the country. It sure looks like a product that would be very welcome in the model railroad community.

Gary, I'd be interested in seeing one of those decals in person! You can try asking around with other manufacturers besides Rail Graphics as well. Microscale is one of the largest decal companies, their decals have very little noticeable edge, but.

http://www.greatdecals.com lists just about every railroad decal manufacturer.
