So here are two carpet layouts I have had up recently.

This first one ran two of our three TrainMaster locomotives. The one pictured is my favorite. There was a much larger portion of the layout that left this room and went through the entire downstairs of our house. (I forgot to take pictures :() In building these layouts, I employed some of our new O-42 turnouts. The LEDs are kinda annoying because they have only half bridge rectifiers, but the switches work fine.

I also recently upgraded the coupler on the tender of the 618 to a TrainMaster controlled electromagnetic one.

And here's the second layout. Pictured are the Lionel Lines 2056, The Santa Fe 634, and sitting on a spur, the Santa Fe 8689.

Some of the most fun I've had is playing trains on the floor. Currently I have a big box of Lego tracks and trains but in the past I've played with friends' Lionel sets and plenty of other plastic toy lines.

Looks like you've got a good thing going. :)

Oh, yeah. I also have a large collection of LEGO trains and LEGO City buildings.

The best part is that minifigures fit in the cabs of Lionel steam locomotives!:D
