California Zephyr

I'm not sure if anyone is using the Cal Zep as their prototype, but I drove by this today and thought I'd share.

Check it out on google maps-street view. It's the address (give or take) of the Amtrak station in Maricopa, AZ. There is a California Zephyr Silver Horizon observation car out front. I thought it was pretty cool.

Very cool! Is it being used for anything? My first thought was that it may be a diner, but I didn't see any signs. The concrete underneath appears to be relatively new.

Not sure really, but I think it's on display for the Amtrak Station there. Definitely permanent. I'm heading down to that area again in a few weeks. Maybe I'll be able to stop by.

For all the CB&Q and passenger rail fans out there, I hope you enjoy the pics! I just wish I was able to get inside, but she was all locked up. Maybe next trip down I'll get in.
