One of the reasons why, I chose to model Norfolk Southern, is that their locos just look so good in black. This is an SD70-M2 I saw at the Cresson depot a couple of weeks ago. Its a place where you get a better feel for how long the trains are, that these locos pull.

One of the things i love about the Black on NS engines, it always looks clean. Highlighted by the white, it looks professional, flows well with the lines of modern diesels, and no matter how dirty it gets, it never looks much worse than its had a long day of work. I wish i could say the same about my beloved CP Rail locomotives, but the red gets filthy fast.
