Hey all,
I've been whittling away at this project for a couple years and now it's finished.
This is a USA Trains GP38-2 modified to represent DT&I's version of thier Bicentennial unit.
It's 1/29 scale. Battery powered Airwire R/C DCC with a Soundtraxx DSX sound decoder also.
Enjoy!

Modeling the DT&I in 1/29 scale circa 1980ish
looks great. Just curious, but do you have any HO scale stuff to put next to it. I would be interested to see the size difference.
beautiful paint scheme. nice job
Thanks guys,
Aaron: I don't have much HO (only a couple cars I plan on using as reference to scratchbuild some in my scale). Speaking of scale....1/29 is exactly 3 times the size of HO. So, it's 3 times as long...3 times as wide...and 3 times as tall....that increases the mass by a lot! What HO I have I can't compare apples for apples but maybe these 2 pics will help. I set the HO all door car on a 50' boxcar for you also.

Thats pretty cool, whats it made or and whats it powered by, is it really a can motor in there?
Thanks again guys,
Littlefoot: It's made out of plastic. It has onboard batteries controlled by CVP Airwire900 R/C DCC with a Soundtraxx DSX sound decoder. Each truck has a can motor inside it. Great speed control and no track cleaning...in fact it will run anywhere.

Thank you sir, i saw your first post about the batteries i just wasnt sure what you had for engines in it.
Looks great! You can really see the details at that size.
