Hi Guys,
Asked in the Loco forum about a top end Switcher and it was suggested I ask in here as well. So, what switcher do you guys recommend getting for a small yard needing to handle 12 to 14 cars maximum, make and engine type?
Atlas makes VO1000 & S-2, Kato NW2, Life Like now Walthers Sw9/1200 & Sw8/900. I do not have much time with any of these. The VO1000, S-2 & NW2 have drop in decoders. The S-2 can be bought with sound or non sound decoders.
Dan
I haven't gotten around to putting decoders in my Micro-Trains switchers, but I have run the Atlas VO-1000 and it's nice. If you're wanting to know how it handles a specific load and what its pulling power is, I could fire it up and test it for you.
I like the Kato NW2 best myself
