I bought some Champ Resibond. At the recommendation of someone, I lay in the ballast and mist it with water with just a drop of detergent. I use an eyedropper to drip in the resibond liquid.
It does great. No noise coupling to the board. Trains run over it quiet. But it darkens the ballast too much.
Is there a way to thin it down so I can soak it evenly into the ballast but use less??
Elmer's glue 50/50 with water worked well but way way too noisy.

I experimented last night. Water thinner works great if anyone is interested. Makes the ballast softer, still holds it, and doesn't make it so dark. I wound up using 50/50 water and resibond.
