Engineers: I put a decapod on the track turned up the power and I heard a click and saw a puff of smoke rising from the loco. Any ideas? Its brand new. The MRC power pack I have has a pilot light and it dims when the power is applied. Thats two I have with the same problem. Any easy fix? Anyone with a similar problem? Happy Jose
Oh, oh! The magic smoke is not to be let out of the decoders. Once it is allowed to escape, the decoder must be returned for replacement if it is still under warranty. Fortunately for you, this is the case, although your place of purchase will likely replace it for you themselves.
Yeah that smoke was the soul of your decoder escaping.. I have a NCE to send back, that w/o thinking, hooked up wrong. Oops!
yea u fried it so get on the phone and get it replaced
