Hello all,
A friend of mine at work has a boss who apparently is a big Oakland Raider's fan. Enough of one to own a Bachmann Oakland Raiders train. My friend asked me to fix the engine as a part was broken on the back. So I looked at the F unit and the clip that holds the coupler on is missing.
Does anyone know where I could find a spare, other than going through Bachmann?
Thanks
Michael
No, you really do have to try and get the part through Bachmann. If it's the part I'm thinking of, it is a three-sided open square that snaps down over the coupler pocket. It might be possible to cut off the coupler pocket completely and adapt a Kadee coupler and pocket but, if the set has any collector's value, you will have reduced the value to near zero.
I have a Bachmann F7, and I just chucked out the chassis. I'll check it out, and if I get the part off in one piece, you can have it.
I'll let you know what I can find.
The Bachmann service department is fairly worthless in my ventures with them. Even Athearn is better at service. My Bachmann Shay had a damaged cab when I got it, and I called them, and they told me to send it in, and they'll send me a new one (It was 2 weeks before I could even talk to somebody). 6 months later, after totally forgeting my call to them, it arrived in the mail.
