I just picked up a Bachmann Spectrum EMC Gas Electric "Doodlebug" at the Paris Model Train Show for $47.00 CAN. The model appears to be in good shape. It is undecorated, painted green, it appaers to be DCC ready, but I am not sure on that. Does anyone know what this model is worth? I went on the Bachmann sight and they are offering a DCC Doodlebug with a Trailing Coach for $215.00. I was currious has to what this model is worth. Also, what should I expect to pay to put a DCC decoder in it and is there a decoder equiped with sound for a "Doodlebug"?
Thanks
GUB
If your doodlebug was packed in a single black box it is the first run - possibly 10+ years old. Then new DCC equipped ones come with a trailer coach in a red box.
Yes it came in a single black box. There is a Warning that came with the instructions that says "if using an advanced polarized DCC decoder, the Green Jumper Wire must be cut". This makes me think that it is DCC ready. Am I correct in my thinking that?

DCC ready means that has a place to plug a decoder in, but I'm not familiar with the model enough to say if it does or not.

Thanks Ted, maybe I will take into a shop close to where I work and let them have a look at it. I am somewhat nervous about doing anything like this myself, just yet.
