Good morning all, and Happy New Year!

I've got some Christmas money to spend and was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the Bachman EZ Command System. I know that is no where near what NCE and Digitrax are.....however, money is tight right now!

Aside from the obvious real life limitations of the system, I am more interestedin hearing about quality issues, power issues, etc.

Thanks....

Chuck

If you understand that all you will be able to do is to address and to run maybe three locomotives at once, and none of them working very hard, then the EZ Command is a decent enough and reliable system.

If it were me, I would hold off getting anything until I could use my decoders properly. It gives you focus and purpose, gives you a strong goal, and it prolongs the keen anticipation. ;). Six months from now, which I know sounds like forever, you will still only have the EZ Command and all it can't do. Or, you could have a Zephyr or another system that actually allows you to use all those decoders properly in time. Your railroad will grow.

Go with the NCE power cab, it can be had for 150 or less. Just check ebay all the time. I only paid 114 dollars for mine. It will be much better than the ez system.

Sweet!!!!

Okay, so normally I don't luck out....but I happened upon a mr/hobby store today, come to find that they were selling an open/new Zephyr Starter Set (DCS50) for $50!!!!!!

Yeehaw!

Now all I need to do is get dcc locos, or at least try and convert the one or two I have that might be worth doing so.
