I love trains!
I found this auction on ebay and I think I want it. I mean, I love the RS-1 and would like to have one in my collection but I can't tell from the description on ebay or on Atlas' site if it is DCC equipped or ready. Anyone have any experience with this locomotive?

Also, I'm addicted to high-quality sound. Is there a compatible sound chip/board I could put into this loco?

And finally, is it worth it? Is the Atlas RS-1 a good quality loco and worth putting in the $ to do DCC and sound?

TIA,

Eric

Eric,

Judging from the listing, it does not have dcc in it. He makes no reference to dcc or any manufacturer.

RS-1's just like RS-3 have a very tight fitting body, so there isn't too much room for sound, I have put it in, Used a soundtraxx chip, but it does take some serious cutting and fitting.
I still have to finish the headlights, and have very little room to do so. They are good running loco's and you might want to check lok-sound for their decoder.
