Another new guy on the block

Another thing about F-M, I've heard their engines were a b*** to maintain due to the opposed pistons, but they had great traction for it. They made their last locomotive in the early 1960s, I'll get the date later. They had locomotives like the C-Liners (C-Line=Consolodation Line, CPA16-4 and CFA16-4 thru CPA24-5, with B units also) and their hood locomotives (H12-44 and H10-44 were switchers, H15 and H16-44 were like GP7s and 9s, andn then there were the *drool* H24-66s, trianmasters, built in 1953, 2400Hp.) Anyone else?

i must say that is quite impressive TrainboyH16-44:). you forgot only a couple;H20-44, H16-66, H12-64(CN had 11 of these), the P12-42(these were made for NH and B&M), and last CPA16-5.:p ;) :D the last FM engine to roll out of beloits plant was in 1963. i dont know if ANYONE would want to know, but i can give EVERY FM engine buyer, dates they bought, how many they bought, what they bought, road numbers, renumbered(if applies), and if the engine was sold from the origianal buyer, who it was sold to(and the numbers the secound buyer put on them). thought i'd throw that out there just incase someone wanted an FM on their layout, but didnt know if the road they modeled had them.;) :D -Dean

Dean,
Did Milwaukee have H16-44 or H16-66? I have it written down somewhere but I can't find it. I was going to come back with a snappy fact and I can't find it.

ak-milw, your answer is YES! what is this, a trick question.LOL! milwaukee road had 6 H16-66's #550-555, all were bought in 8-9 of 1953. and they had 37 H16-44's! #400-407 bought in 1 of 1954, #413-419 bought in 8-9 1954, #408-412 bought in 9 1954, #420-428 bought in 12 1954, and the last H16-44's they bought were #429-436 bought in 1-2 1956. Milwaukee was FM's FIRST customer. the first engine they bought(8/1944) was an H10-44, the origianal # was 1802, but was renumbered #760. thank you for asking!;) :D -Dean *edit* the last two facts i know you didnt ask about, just thought i would throw in a couple fun facts.
