Hello,

Thank you for all the support at Amherst. Evan and I thought it was fun to see the dropped jaws and guys bringing more buddies to the table to see the new traction motor based drive in operation.

The traction motor was impressive to see running two full days with no hiccups and after the gears were worn in, provide very quiet operation. I knew it would work and but its always great to be pleasantly surprised rather than have to hit the books again as is the case with a lot of new things.

Evan is working on some assemblies and we're also designing jigs to speed up production as its taking about an hour for one motor right now. Things will get faster soon but its going to take a bit to get some inventory built up ahead on the traction motors. That said, the product is now considered "In Stock" as everything is on hand for building traction motors for shipment.

A number of photo-etched items were restocked for the show, I will send them out to back orders over the next week.

I need you all to consider that this traction motor is a part of bigger picture, we're in the process of a state of the art drive and layout control on top of fully modular and prototype specific locomotives. I am glad that those of you who spent the time to talk with us and see what we're doing compared the competition. You saw that we're just not another model train company.

We're going way beyond the norm with our products and quality. Over the next few weeks we're moving our tooling that has been delayed to new suppliers. This will put the hoods, hood components, and trucks out ASAP. Stanchions too!

Please keep up the support. We have numerous variations of locomotives from the late 1960's to late 1980's designed, they just need the support of present products and more funding. The sales now, build a solid foundation for the business plan we have in place. For those who saw the "GMDD Logo" in the side of traction motor casing this weekend will attest, we've got the right suppliers lined up for this new phase of tooling.

Be different, we're bleeding edge, not a status quo product.

All the best,

Thank you for the support,

Christopher,

Those traction motors are quite innovative. But how much can a loco equiped with these haul? I am aware of attempts to power switchers with tenshodo spuds, and they didn't have much hauling ability. But those spuds are old technology. It must be 25 years since they were released. Modern motors might be better. Please tell us more about your traction motors and trucks.

On a different subject, I was wondering if you have any plans for HO scale loco kits? Here's a suggestion :D:

I could use one of these in my steel industry switcher collection. Seems a shame that a model of this classic Canadian switcher isn't avaliable.

Another idea would be this one:

I need that loco type rather desperately. I can send you scale plans if you are interested. Hallmark imported a run of brass models in the 1980's, but otherwise I don't think anyone has done it is HO scale. A body kit is avaliable in N scale however.

Regards, Paul
