I have a brand new MTH SD 70 Ace and cannot program it on my brand new Digatrax Zephyr plus. I've tried everything a newbie can try and that -------- thing just sits there and won't turn a light on. The thing runs great on DC and even makes sounds.

Why doesn't Digatrax publish a glossary of messages and their meanings so you don't have to look all over the operations manual?

And how do you get something that is "busy" un-busy?

A confused newbie,
Gardner

P.S. The locos I've successfully programmed run GREAT!

I have no experience with MTH trains, but are you trying to get it to respond to an extended address? What does the MTH literature say you must do...is there a CV to change, maybe their CV 29?

First, though, which Digitrax system are you using?

You missed it - A Zephyr Extra.

On your successful efforts, are you using the programming track or are you programming on the main (Ops mode).

What is saying it's busy? Are you using JMRI?

Cheers,
Ian

Ian, you are right, I dd miss it....too late at night to be much good, obviously. :p

To the OP, there is a Digitrax group on yahoo...they would know how to help you immediately.

MTH locos can only be programmed on the main in my experience. I don't own any, and they are not currently making anything I'd want, but I see other club members struggling with them. Do a forum search and you'll find several discussions on this issue.
