Is there a manufacturer of wooden bridges? I'm thinking of buying two, each about a foot in length.
I did buy Bachmann's 18 truss set. After opening the package, it was not quite what I had in mind. However, I might be able to make the trusses work with wooden bridges.
In HO scale real wood, Campbell's makes both wood trestles and truss bridges, semi-craftsman kits. Also JV Models makes a long trestle in more of a craftsman kit. Black Bear Construction makes great jigs for both bridges and trestle bents, and also sells the necessary lumber for them. If you are wanting to stay in plastic then Walthers makes a trestle kit along with several bridges. Micro-Engineering makes some nice bridges and steel viaducts. While Central Valley makes a great truss bridge.
However if you are looking at trestles then most modelers simply find it best to scratchbuild them. Get one of the bridge books (both Carstens and Kalmbach publish one) and pick out the load rating you need. A simple jig for the bents is easy to make to keep the legs in aligmment. Really for bridges this short if you are not spanning another track, but only terrain, then a small wood trestle would be my choice.
Miami Valley products of Ohio, I think sold out to JV models years ago. These bridge kits are really nice. Not easy to build, but are real strong when finished. U use to be able to get them from 2ft. long to 8ft. long.
