Hey guys, I am in the process of extra super detailing 2 RPP 8-40 CW's that I got the other day. The came with the basic parts bag (number boards, stack, brake wheel n rad grills) and the frames and nothing else. I have most of the detail parts to finish these nicely incl. the brass see thru steps. The things I am in search of are a handrail set, smooth running trucks, and a nice smooth powerplant to go inside that I can convert to DCC/sound when its all done. Where might I look for these parts?? Also where is a good place to get brass wire for making custom grab irons??

Smokey Valley makes a handrail set for the Dash 8 40CW. Not sure if it comes with stanchions.

If you can find scale drawings you can save yourself $16 and bend the handrails yourself out of brass wire. It's not that difficult. I did the handrails for this RPP Dash 8-40B...

Ohh wow!! Thats a NICE job!! I did see the handrails on their website and I was thinking of making the myself. I even thought of getting an old Spectrum 8-40CW to use as a donor for the handrails and trucks...
