Maybe another crazy idea (I'm very well known for that !): running 7/8ths scale (1:13.7) trains on H0 track ? Thanks for your answers.

HO scale standard-gauge track would equate to 8.9-inch gauge in 7/8-inch-per-foot scale. That would be far narrower than the narrowest narrow-gauge track.

I used an old Hornby 0-4-0 chassis (00 gauge) to motorize my critter. It runs very well as you can see on the video. Have fun !
