I'll never forget the time I was taking the train from Waukegan to Chicago on the Metra North line, about a decade ago. As the train was coming in, just before it would reverse direction to go south, a number of people scrambled across the tracks from one platform to another in front of the oncoming locomotive. After the train came to rest, the engineer climbed down from the cab and basically yelled at the crowd of waiting passengers about what idiots they were being.

I would have had some choice words for that idiot who kept walking down the tracks. The engineer did a job good tho coming in so slowly and using caution. Railroad fatalities are not fun.
