This summer I will be building a 10X14 shed for the sole purpose of converting electricity into 1/87 rail operations.
I would like to have a bi-level point-to-point operation. The three players will be the modern day Rock Island interchanging with the ATSF and Farmrail (www.farmrail.com). ATSF trackage will be limited and will serve interchange traffic only. Farmrail will have significant track and will be my short line feeding the Rock.
Primary freight will include:
Grain
Aggregate
Scrap metal
Cement
Oil field chemicals
I'm interested in similar sized layouts or even your favorite section of a layout that could be incorporated. I'm also interested in the feasibility of operating such a layout with the room available.
