this was built as a wall desplay and something to do between layouts. The El Capitan passanger train takes the main while the local frieght waits in the hole.
This is a Santa Fe F-7 unit #39. It is the 2nd loco. in a 3 engine train. Once this engine is done with the frieght it will take a short passenger train from SP #4446
This is AT&SF/Santa Fe engine #6380 with a Santa Fe F-7 and a BNSF gp-50. It is hauling a short frieght across the layout to go to the intermodal station/Coal mine about 1 mile away.
Restored depot in Carlsbad, CA was built in 1907. It now houses the city's Convention and Visitors Bureau. Piko's "Grizzly Flats" depot kit is patterned after this design.
A couple Santa Fe locomotives lead a hot intermodal through a rock cut in Colorado. The scene is shot outdoors on a diorama I constructed to try my hand at forming rock surfaces and scrub brush foliage.
Two GP60Ms I built several years ago from the Rail Power Products kits. I sold these four years ago but now need to get another set. One of those "doh!" moments... The background is a little diorama I made, photographed outside on a winter day in Colorado (I love that natural light!).
